Sip Through Centuries: A Wine & History Tour of Dubrovnik
Wine cultivation dates back over 7,000 years and, until the 17th century, it had little to no competition across Europe. This tour is designed for wine lovers and curious travelers alike — those who want to uncover the fascinating twists and turns of wine’s evolution, while also discovering some of the finest wines from our region, all seamlessly blended with a historical walking tour through Dubrovnik.
My personal connection to this tradition runs deep. My mother’s family comes from one of the most renowned wine regions in Croatia. For generations, wine wasn’t just a tradition — it was a way of life, and often the only source of income. I grew up surrounded by vineyards, stories, and the scent of fermentation, and this early immersion gave me a lasting appreciation for both the art and the heritage of winemaking.
On this tour, I’ll guide you through Dubrovnik’s rich history, tracing our cultural influences all the way back to the ancient Greeks. Along the way, we’ll stop at two of my favorite wine bars, where you’ll enjoy curated wine and food tastings that showcase the best of our local terroir.
We begin at Pile Square, the gateway to the Old Town, and from there, history, wine, and storytelling unfold.
