2. The Personal Data We Collect

We only collect the information we need to answer your questions and plan your experience:

  • Enquiry and booking details – your name, email address, phone number, preferred dates, number of guests, accommodation or pick-up location and any message you send us.
  • Collection enquiries – the product or gift box you are interested in, quantity, preferred date, delivery preference and, if you request delivery, the town or place and country.
  • Dietary preferences and allergies – only if you choose to share them, so we can prepare your experience safely.
  • Communication – messages exchanged with us by email, phone or WhatsApp, and questions you type into the AI chat assistant on our website.
  • Technical data – your IP address, browser type and pages visited, which our servers record automatically for security and to keep the website running properly.

3. How and Why We Use Your Data

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal – necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To organise and deliver your booking or order – including pick-up, timing, delivery and communication before and during your experience (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To comply with legal obligations – such as accounting, tax and travel agency regulations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • To protect our website from spam, misuse and security threats (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Dietary and allergy information may relate to your health. We use it only with your explicit consent and only to adapt your experience safely (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Payments. We do not take online payments on this website. Payment terms are agreed with you directly after your booking or order has been confirmed.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We share your data only where this is necessary to provide our services:

  • Our local partners – hosts, wineries, producers, drivers and guides involved in your experience or order receive only the details they need, such as your name, group size, timing or dietary requirements.
  • Hostinger – our website hosting and content delivery provider. Website data, enquiries sent through our forms and our email are stored on their servers.
  • Anthropic (Claude) – powers the AI chat assistant on our website. Messages you type into the chat are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the chat.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) – if you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp button, your messages are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
  • Public authorities, where we are required to do so by law.

Anthropic and Meta may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases appropriate safeguards apply, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months, so we can help you if you come back to us, and are then deleted. Booking, order and invoice records are kept for the period required by Croatian accounting and tax law. Dietary and allergy information is deleted once your experience has taken place, unless you ask us to keep it for a future visit.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work properly and securely. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

The AI chat assistant and the accessibility tool may save small amounts of information in your browser’s local storage, such as your chat conversation or display preferences, so they work smoothly while you browse. This information stays on your device, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.

All fonts are hosted on our own server, so no data is sent to Google when you visit our pages. Links to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and TripAdvisor take you to those platforms, whose own privacy policies apply.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at info@dubrovnikculinarytours.com. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka, azop.hr).

8. Data Security

We use secure (HTTPS) connections, reputable service providers and restricted access to protect your data. Only the people who need your details to plan and deliver your experience have access to them.
